Theme tours

The gap that still existed in Schwetzingen between the castle and city sphere has now been filled. There is something new now in the programmes organized by the city information office,   theme tours of a special kind, conducted theme tours presenting the town in an interesting way. That way history is brought back to life. The  emphasis of these  tours not only lies in a tour through the development of the town, but the individual centuries are also highlighted such as the splendid 18th century under Carl Theodor, the 19th century with the transition of Schwetzingen to Baden and the beginning of industrialization or the crime story with stirring criminal cases of past times.

Further, there are special tours during the months of May and June dedicated to the asparagus: a female asparagus gardener of the late 19th century entertains the guests with tales and anecdotes about the royal vegetable, the white asparagus.
